Basal vein of Rosenthal → Vein of Galen → Straight sinus → Transverse Sinus → Sigmoid sinus → Jugular vein
The basal vein of Rosenthal is a venous structure that is responsible for the drainage of blood from the anterior and deep structures of the cerebrum. It feeds into the vein of Galen, a more distal venous structure responsible for deep structures. The vein of Galen and the inferior sagittal sinus meet at the origin of the straight sinus. This straight sinus travels posteriorly and inferiorly to meet the superior sagittal sinus at the confluence of sinuses, also known as the torcula. Venous blood then continues to travel back to the heart via the transverse sinus, sigmoid sinus, and jugular vein, in that order.
